August 25,26,27, 2006 Plein Air Painting Event20 artists fan out throughout Lodi's historic downtown and outlying areas to capture images depicting Lodi -- from Lodi's famed mission-style arch, constructed in 1905, to the A & W Root Beer stand, operating at 216 E. Lodi Avenue since 1953 (A & W Root Beer originated in Lodi in 1919). Artists include: Gil Dellinger (Stockton), Jeannie Vodden (Jackson), Marilyn Eger (Acampo), Juan Pena (Colfax), Ray Roberts (Angles Camp), Kathleen Dunphy (Murphy's), Charles Waldman (Sonora), Clark Mitchell (Cotati), Roman Loranc (Modesto), Robin Gay McCline (Fresno), Rowland Cheney (Clements), Dan & Lucinda Kasser (Stockton), Nancy Holl-Smith (Lodi), Peggy Kroll (Angles Camp), Mildred Pepper (Fresno), Marilyn Rose (Nevada City), Roger Casillas (Tracy), Barbara Flaherty (Stockton), Chella (Modesto), and Marika Wolfe (Stockton). Painters and photographers will be working outdoors, Friday through Sunday, August 25 - 27. The show featuring this work will open at the Knowlton Gallery on September 1st, from 6 - 9 pm.
